WELCOME to FESTIMAGO 2008

Welcome to the International Image and Digital Photography Festival. For the second time since its creation, you are invited to take part in the Festival Big Challenge, which will be based this year on: “Planet Earth”.

The International Image and Digital Photography Festival regroup all image assisted by computer creators. This could be photography realised with a digital camera, photographic improvement, photographic assembly, image manipulations, 2D and 3D infographics or any other kind of digital art creation. You are the main actors.

The Festival is a tool to show to everyone your work and your talent and to make known yourself. During this event, you will have the opportunity to connect to image professionals. Through exhibitions, workshops and meetings or by the medias, you will be able to express your creativity.

This second edition relies on the incredibly vast success encountered at the Phoenix Park in 2007. This year, we are pleased to propose a completely unique Festival, which is going to take place in a magnificent 15th century citadel and also through the all city situated in the most beautiful harbour of the world: Villefranche-sur-Mer.

LOOK BACK IN FESTIMAGO 2007

The first edition of the Festival was a brilliant success. This event overtook our wildest dreams. During the month of the Festival, the Phoenix Park welcomed more than 32000 visitors and most of them were able to enjoy the event.
The festimago.com website recorded 29800 connexions in four months. More than 220 artists were exhibited, 1250 artworks were displayed on giant screens and on prints.
25 public or private partners gave their sponsorship to this event…
In the same time as the exhibitions and the adult challenge, we organized a junior challenge regrouping schools of children between 8 and 12, who expressed their talent by taking pictures of flora and fauna of the Phoenix Park. Three of them were awarded during the Gala of the festival.
The public was able to watch different workshops during this festival: Shooting with a model, macro photography workshop, Adobe display, association meetings, conferences… The success was such that it was necessary to organize more displays. This enthusiasm was very stimulating for the 2008 edition.

The four winners of the challenge “Liberty” were:
Marie-Laure Vareilles (1st prize), Antoine Barbot (2nd prize), Daniel Guffanti (3rd prize), Daniel Chichou (public award).
